My name is Markus Van Meter and I love adventure traveling the mountains and shooting photography of the amazing landscapes and lifestyles found in these alpine environments. At 43 years old I want to share my zest of life and experiences thru this web site by documenting my mountain adventure travels and photos with the hopes of motivating my readers to get out and live a little enjoying what God created for us.

I’m not a nomad in the sense of other travel bloggers where all my possessions fit in a backpack.  No!  I’m a father and a devoted husband to my beautiful wife Annette.  I have responsibilities and a job.  Although I work for myself as a web developer and technical writer, affording flexibility over my time, I do have obligations and commitments no different than most folks and that is what makes this site different from the other travel blogs out in cyberspace.  My adventure travels and photos focus on mountain life that can be experienced by anyone with the desire and a modest budget.

The purpose of this site is to encourage my readers to rediscover how and where to find a little adventure in life by heading to the mountains and living the lifestyle even if only for a short vacation.  The mountain environment has so much to offer and if you’re lucky you will bring a piece of that home with you and it will feel like you have been blessed.  The rugged landscape and people found in the mountains are the essence of independence.

Adventure travel is the spice of life and should be enjoyed by folks with families, mortgages, jobs and responsibilities.  Read this site often to learn about great destinations-all within a day or two drives from home-and browse photos of amazing landscapes and people.
